Writer's picture: G.FedoraG.Fedora

Today let’s talk about Captain Morgan. No not the rum but the man who’s face graces those rum bottles. Yes, he was totally a real guy. Captain Morgan was a Welsh privateer who fought alongside the English against the Spanish in the Caribbean in the 1660s and 1670s. His first name was Henry, and he was a knight, having been knighted by King Charles II of England. Captain Morgan lived a spicey adventurous life, His exact birth date is unknown, but it was believed to be around 1635. His death however is known, it occurred in Jamaica on August 25th, 1688, He was given a states funeral, interestingly both Statesmen as well as Pirates attended his funeral to show their respect for the well-loved Captain.
