Shortest War In History



Today I am going to tell you about the shortest war in history. The war known as The Anglo-Zanzibar War, lasted just over 38 minutes. It was between Britain and Zanzibar, this war occurred on August 27, 1896. It was over the ascension of a new Sultan in Zanzibar who was not pro Britain. The British where not pleased and war was declared. At the end of the 38 minutes of fighting the Sultan’s army sustained 500 casualties, while Britain recorded 1 injury. Upon their victory, the British quickly placed Sultan Hamoud in power at the head of a puppet government.
